While passing through Kaifan across Platinum gym, I noticed 7 SUVs got their wheels locked by police. It turned out that Kuwaiti police was very active lately in writing violations (according yesterday papers); they locked 40 cars (7 of them in Kaifan) in one day.

Strangely, some brave people still parks on top of street curves! While passing on the same road today, 4 new cars got locked.

Thus please follow the law since you will suffer in this weather …

“Colin” is a zombie movie shot in a camcorder with total budget less a set of DVDs! The director is British, Marc Price, who said his movie will get its own DVD plus playing on theaters for Halloween.

How $70! He managed to get volunteers actors from face book. Borrowed and self taught makeup and special effects … Still free! The $70 was spent on “a crowbar and a couple of tapes, and some tea and coffee — just to keep the zombies happy.” Price said

Yesterday I had this feeling to have fish (Salmon or Tuna) grilled burger. Unfortunately I have not paid attention if anyone serves it in Kuwait, so I decided to create it from scratch!

It was tuna burger with Dijon mustard parsley sauce. Taste wise it was a success, by the way fresh tuna tastes way different that water/oil canned tuna.  

I did not kept track of my measurements to create the full recipe, but I will be glad to execute it again if anyone is interested in such fish burgers

A US car dealer is offering a free AK47 riffle with every car purchased as way of attraction.

I really wonder what cars dealers could possibility offer Kuwaiti customers as attraction… !

Zahr El-laymoun

Since the opening of 360 mall we were trying to find good time to try this new Lebanese restaurant. Zahr El Laymoun is oriental kitchen and grill café that offers simple grilled, baked and healthy Lebanese cuisine.

I really liked the restaurant concept of providing nice calm simple interior along with lots of healthy items that could satisfy variety of choices.

Food/Menu

Normally the word healthy scares me as one of my friends relates it to tasteless! On the contrary the food taste was good. 

I had chicken shawarma, hummas, tabolah and mediterranean salad; the guys fell in love with those lamb chops my friend got.                 

It is worth mentioning that food presentation looked close to corresponding pictures in Zahr El-Laymoun website.

Service

Though most of the staff members looked new to Kuwait, they were nice and friendly. Their service base was normal comparing to how slow some people thought of it.

Here are my service records:

• 17:10 breads and compliments
• 17:16 appetizers
• 17:26 main course

Atmosphere/venue

Very simple and relaxing! The pinkish and light purple interiors will cool you off. This was very obvious when looking at how people around us enjoying the conversation and company.

At the end of our visit the guys got creative in shaping breads “Caak” into Pac-Man

Finally we would like to give our special thanks to Ms. Nisreen Jadayel

With the opening of the 360 mall, a temporary museum of the late singer has opened from 8 July till the 8th of November. I would recommend music lovers, both fans and nonfans, of Uom Kalsum to go; it’s a great experience and knowledge about the singer.

I took some pictures of the museum but it’s not enough, you should go and see yourself.
All of the museum items were brought from “Uom Kalsum museum” at Cairo.

I saw this recipe on the internet, but I have been hesitated to make it since it is loads of calories plus could have strange taste.

Finally, I decided to give it a try. It tasted way better than what I expected, but it was heavy; so don’t eat too much of it. It is really good as a lazy guy dessert

Follow is the recipe

Ingredients:

Pound cake (I used Sara Lee)

Store bought cheese cake (I don’t remember the name; you can use any cheese cake)

Butter

Steps:

Cut 2 slices pound cake

Cut 1 small slice cheesecake

Butter the outside of pound cakes

Heat the pan on medium-low, add little butter

Assemble the sandwich where cheesecake in middle of “un-buttered” sides pound cakes

Place the sandwich in the pan, gently turn over after about a minute and a half. If it is still not brown enough for you, keep it for some time (you judge)

Serve and enjoy
